2008 Freedom Children's Art Show

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all children ages 5 to 14 yrs. Each child may submit one original piece of art on any subject. Paintings of oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels, drawing, or mixed media will be accepted (no beans, macaroni, etc.) Pieces must be framed and wired for hanging, (eye screws and wire) and can be no larger than 20 x 24 inches.

SUBMISSION OF ART WORK: Artwork will be accepted Saturday, June 28 from 10 am. to noon at the Utah County Health & Justice Building, 151 S. University Avenue, Provo. Artwork that is selected will hang in the building through Aug. 22, 2008. No entry fee. The art board may use images of art accepted in this show for future publicity.

THIS IS A JURIED SHOW: Special awards & prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place and merit awards in each of the age categories (5–6 yrs) (7 -8) (9-10) (11-12) (13-14). A special award will also be given to the best work of art with a Patriotic Theme.

RECEPTION & AWARDS CEREMONY: MONDAY, JULY 7th, 2008, 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Health and Justice Building, Provo. AWARDS CEREMONY: Awards program for AGES 5 to 8 held at 7 pm. AGES 9 thru 14 held at 8 p.m. Program includes special guest performances, refreshments, certificates and prizes for all who enter.

PICK-UP OF ART WORK: Accepted works must remain at the building through August. In an effort to hang all work submitted & because of the large number of pieces anticipated, half will hang in July, half will hang in August. July exhibitors will pick up work on Saturday, July 26… 9 to 11 a.m.

INSURANCE: Works entered will not be insured. While reasonable precautions will be taken against damage, theft, and loss, those entering this exhibit assume all liability.
